Add Endorsed Program

Help

If you have completed hours of Workplace Learning (ADWPL), you will need to convert these to unit equivalents as follows:

  • 55 – 109 hours = 1 unit equivalent
  • 110 – 164 hours = 2 unit equivalents
  • 165 – 219 hours = 3 unit equivalents
  • 220+ hours = 4 unit equivalents.

In addition, for each 55 hours completed in the workplace, a logbook and skills journal must have been completed for unit equivalents to be awarded.

Check the Authority website http://senior-secondary.scsa.wa.edu.au/vet/endorsed-programs if you are unsure about the unit equivalents for your endorsed program/s.

Add VET Certificate

Help

Where you have completed a qualification as part of a VET industry specific course, please do not enter it in this section. This should only be entered in the VET Industry Specific section of the WACE checker.

If you have partially completed a Certificate III or higher (achieved at least 220 nominal hours of new VET enrolments in Year 12) you will need to enter this as a Certificate II qualification.

Please note that if your qualification is a Vocational Accredited Course, then you will need to manually calculate to see if you meet the requirements for a WACE, as the WACE checker does not cater for these courses. Details of how Vocational Accredited Courses contribute towards meeting the WACE requirements can be found on the Authority website at http://senior-secondary.scsa.wa.edu.au/vet/wace-recognition-of-vet-accredited-courses.

Help

To use this checker to monitor your progress towards achieving your WACE you need to add information about your achievements in Year 11 and your expected achievement in Year 12. The checker will be of most assistance to you if you are realistic with the information you provide. When you add your anticipated grades for Year 12, add what you realistically expect to achieve this year.

You can save your information as a PDF. This may be useful for tracking any changes to your progress and the effects of making changes to the courses you are enrolled in. If, for example, you withdraw from a List B course in Year 12, will that affect your ability to meet the WACE requirement of a List A and a List B subject in Year 12?

The checker will indicate whether you have met the requirements to achieve a WACE based on the information you provide. If you have any questions or concerns about meeting the WACE requirements you should contact your school. You are also encouraged to refer to the WACE Manual on the Authority website for the current requirements for a WACE.
